Thryv is a guided all-in-one for local owners. GoHighLevel is an agency platform built for reselling. Here is how the CRM, reviews, invoices, contracts and real cost compare.
Thryv and GoHighLevel both promise to put your customers, messages, reviews and payments in one place, so they often end up on the same shortlist. They are built for different people. Thryv is a guided all-in-one for local business owners who run their own customer relationships, with advisors and done-for-you services on top. GoHighLevel is an agency platform designed to be white-labelled and resold. A single business can use it, but has to set it up itself. Below we compare the CRM, website, reviews, invoicing, contract terms and real monthly cost, using US prices checked at the time of writing (October 2026).

Choose Thryv if you want people to guide you, most of your work comes from local search and reviews, and you are comfortable signing up for a fixed term. Choose GoHighLevel if you, or someone you pay, will build the automations, you text customers a lot, and you want month-to-month billing that you can cancel from the dashboard.
If what you really want is a good website with a simple CRM behind it, both may be more than you need, and you will pay for features you never open. We cover that third route near the end.

Thryv sells software plus help. Its pricing page lists two published plans, Starter and Signature, plus a Custom plan quoted by sales. On top of those you can buy Boosts, which are done-for-you services for ads, search, social media and branding. The day-to-day tools (contacts, appointments, estimates and invoices) live in Thryv's Business Center app. You run your own customer relationships, and Thryv's team helps you get found and stay organised.
GoHighLevel, which now mostly calls itself HighLevel, is built for marketing agencies. Each client business is a sub-account, and the agency can put its own logo on the software. The top plan adds SaaS mode, which lets the agency sell the platform under its own name with automatic billing. A single business can sign up and use one sub-account for itself, and plenty do. But the product assumes someone will build the pipelines, funnels and automations, and independent reviews from 2026 often mention a steep learning curve for solo owners.
That difference shapes everything below. Thryv tries to save you time. GoHighLevel tries to give an expert as many tools as possible.
Neither headline price tells the whole story. Thryv's published plans cover marketing, and the CRM side is priced separately. GoHighLevel's plan fee is only the starting point: every text, call, email and AI reply adds a little on top.
| Plan | Price at the time of writing | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Thryv Starter | $99 a month | AI website builder, listings on 60+ directories, AI review management, trackable phone numbers, 1 user |
| Thryv Signature | $399 a month | Adds social media management, an SEO-focused custom website, hands-on Google Business Profile help, AI lead insights, phone and email support, 5 users |
| Thryv Business Center | Not on the main pricing page | CRM, appointments, estimates, invoices and payments. Review sites put it in the hundreds of dollars a month per location, and their figures disagree |
| GoHighLevel Starter | $97 a month ($970 a year) | 3 sub-accounts, unlimited contacts and users, CRM, website and funnel builder, reputation management, payments and invoicing |
| GoHighLevel Unlimited | $297 a month | Unlimited sub-accounts, resell phone and email at cost |
| GoHighLevel Agency Pro | $497 a month | SaaS mode, resell phone and email with a markup |
Thryv says annual billing saves 15%, and its pricing page shows a $250 onboarding fee marked as waived. Ask whether any onboarding fee applies to your order.
A worked GoHighLevel example. Take one location on the Starter plan. Each month it sends 2,000 text segments and 5,000 emails, and makes 300 minutes of outbound calls from one local number. At HighLevel's own published US rates at the time of writing, that costs:
That is roughly $125 to $135 a month, before carrier pass-through fees and before any AI. HighLevel's AI Employee add-on costs $50 or $97 a month per sub-account, so a business that switches it on pays closer to $175 to $230. Long texts count as more than one segment, so heavy texters should budget extra.
The Thryv equivalent. The same business would probably take Starter for the website, listings and reviews, then add Business Center for the CRM and invoices. Business Center is not priced in one public place, so get a written quote that lists every product, the term length and any onboarding fee. Once both sides are included, expect Thryv to cost more than GoHighLevel Starter, in exchange for more hands-on help.

Thryv's CRM is designed for an owner and a few staff to use every day without much training. You get customer records, a sales pipeline, appointment booking, and estimates that turn into invoices. For repeat-service businesses, the most useful feature is the client portal, where customers can see their past, current and future invoices and estimates without phoning you. There is also a Business Center mobile app.
GoHighLevel's CRM is broader and more flexible. It bundles contacts, pipelines, email and texting, booking, call tracking, funnels and course hosting, with unlimited contacts and users even on Starter. Its real strength is automation. A rule such as: when someone fills in this form, text them, wait two days, email them, then create a task for a salesperson, is exactly what it is built for. The cost of that flexibility is setup time. An empty GoHighLevel account does very little until someone builds it out.
Here is a useful test. Write down the three things you want to happen automatically when a new enquiry arrives. If you could set those up yourself in an afternoon, either tool will work. If the list is long and you have no time, Thryv's guided approach (or an agency running GoHighLevel for you) will serve you better than a blank account.
Thryv offers two routes. The AI Website Builder writes your pages, copy and images, and you edit and publish when you are ready. The Professional Website is done for you: a Thryv designer works with you from consultation to launch, with up to 15 pages and professional copywriting on up to 5. Most of these sites go live within a few weeks. Signature includes an SEO and AEO custom site, which means it is built to show up in Google and in AI answer engines. Thryv's website pages talk about booking, forms and widgets, not an online shop, so if you sell physical products, check carefully before you sign.
GoHighLevel includes a website and funnel builder in every plan. It is strongest at landing pages and multi-step funnels for capturing leads, and those connect directly to the CRM and automations. A polished multi-page site takes more effort, and most single businesses either use a template as it is or pay someone to build it. Our GoHighLevel website builder review goes into the details.
This is Thryv's home ground. Even Starter includes AI review management and listings on more than 60 directories, and you can monitor ratings and reply to reviews from one screen. Signature adds hands-on help with your Google Business Profile, plus Yelp and Request-a-Quote access. For a plumber, dentist or salon whose phone rings because of Google Maps, that matters more than any automation.
Online reputation management is one of GoHighLevel's core features, and it is good at asking for reviews: a workflow can text a review link to customers after a job or appointment. AI replies to reviews are billed by usage. What you do not get is a person who sorts out your listings for you. If your listings are already in good shape and you simply need more reviews, GoHighLevel handles that well. If your listings are a mess, Thryv is the better choice.
Thryv's estimates and invoices are built for service work. You build an estimate from a template, the customer approves and signs it electronically, and you turn it into an invoice in a few clicks. You can take deposits up front, customers can pay online from any device, and Thryv tells you when they approve, sign or pay. Thryv also runs its own payment service, ThryvPay.
Every GoHighLevel plan includes payments and invoicing, plus text-to-pay links. From a conversation, you text the customer a checkout link, with an optional discount, tax and due date, and they pay in a few taps. This suits businesses that agree a price by text and want to be paid the same day.
Neither tool is accounting software. Before you sign up, check how invoices and payments get into your bookkeeping and what card processing fees apply, because those are charged on top of the plan.
This is the biggest practical difference between the two, and the part owners most often wish they had read.
GoHighLevel is month to month. Its pricing page says there are no long-term contracts and that you can cancel at any time from your dashboard. The 14-day free trial turns into a paid plan automatically unless you cancel, and usage fees for texts and calls can apply during the trial.
Thryv works on a subscription period agreed when you order. Under its terms effective September 2026, fees do not change during that first period, and you get at least 30 days' notice of any price rise. Annual periods renew for another year unless you cancel at least 30 days before the end, and shorter periods roll on month to month. You can cancel for a full refund within three days of purchase. After that, refunds are not given. Earlier versions of the terms set the first period at six months, and many reviews still describe a six-month minimum. Your cancellation request has to include your business name, phone number and address.
Before signing with Thryv, ask for these in writing:
A third type of owner often lands on this comparison: someone who mainly wants a proper website with a CRM behind it, and does not want an advisor, an agency or a contract. WebNewBiz is built for that owner.
You describe your business in plain language and the AI drafts a complete website. You then change it by chatting with the AI Copilot. The Growth plan, at $79 a month, adds an online store and the AI CRM. The CRM reads and scores leads, tracks deals, tasks and bookings, and sends invoices that chase themselves. Website enquiries land in the CRM automatically, and store buyers become contacts. Growth includes 3,000 contacts, 3 team members, basic SEO tools, backups and a free domain for the first year. Every plan costs $1 for the first month and has no minimum contract. If you cancel, you keep access to the end of the paid period, and after that the account stays read-only so you can export your content.
Here is where it is weaker:
You can compare every plan on the pricing page.
If neither feels right, our guides to Thryv alternatives for small business and GoHighLevel alternatives cover the wider field.
Is Thryv cheaper than GoHighLevel?
Usually not, once you add everything. Thryv's published plans are $99 and $399 a month and cover marketing. The CRM and invoicing sit in Business Center, which is priced separately. GoHighLevel starts at $97 a month with the CRM included, and usage fees for a small business often add roughly $25 to $40 a month before AI.
Does Thryv have a contract?
Yes. You agree a subscription period when you order. Annual periods renew automatically unless you cancel at least 30 days before the end, and refunds are only given within three days of purchase. Older terms used a six-month first period. GoHighLevel is month to month.
Can a single business use GoHighLevel without being an agency?
Yes. You sign up and use one sub-account for your own business. Expect to spend real time building pipelines, forms and automations, or to pay an agency to do it, because the platform is designed for experts who resell it.
Which is better for Google reviews and local listings?
Thryv. Its plans include review management and listings on more than 60 directories, and Signature adds hands-on help with your Google Business Profile. GoHighLevel is good at sending review requests automatically, but no advisor comes with it to fix your listings.
Is there a simpler option with a website and CRM together?
Yes. WebNewBiz drafts your website with AI and adds an online store and AI CRM on the Growth plan at $79 a month, with no minimum contract and $1 for the first month. It is younger than Thryv or GoHighLevel and does less with texting and listings.
