ClickFunnels is a funnel and course platform for solo sellers. GoHighLevel is a CRM and texting system for agencies. Here is how to choose.
GoHighLevel and ClickFunnels both start at $97 a month and both build sales funnels, so they get compared all the time. They are built for different people. ClickFunnels is a funnel and course platform for someone selling their own offer. GoHighLevel is a CRM, texting and automation platform built for agencies running marketing for many clients. This guide compares funnel building, CRM depth, texting, automations, multi-client pricing and the learning curve, with prices checked at the time of writing (October 2026), and ends with a plain verdict and a third option.

Pick ClickFunnels if you sell your own course, coaching programme, digital product or a small product range and want a funnel live this week. It is focused, the editor is friendly, and checkout, courses, memberships, email and an affiliate centre are built in.
Pick GoHighLevel if you are an agency (or a service business with several locations) and need a CRM, two-way texting, missed-call text-back, review requests and automations for many clients under your own brand. It does far more, and it takes far longer to set up.
Both start at $97 a month, so price is not the real decision. The real question is whether you are selling one business's offer or running lead follow-up for many businesses.
ClickFunnels started as a funnel builder and has grown into a wider platform: websites, a blog, an online store, email marketing, courses, membership and community areas, an affiliate centre, and a CRM with sales pipelines, appointment booking and a shared inbox called MessageHub. The centre of gravity is still the funnel: a short sequence of pages that takes a visitor from an ad or post to an opt-in, then a sale.
GoHighLevel began as an agency tool. Its basic unit is the sub-account, one per client, each with its own contacts, pipelines, calendars, phone numbers, funnels, websites, workflows, review requests and reporting. The agency sits above them all. It builds funnels and websites too, but they are one part of a larger system for catching leads and following them up by text, email and phone.
Put simply: ClickFunnels is a shop window with a till. GoHighLevel is a call centre with a shop window attached.
Both list prices in US dollars, both offer a 14-day free trial and neither has a free plan.
| At the time of writing | ClickFunnels | GoHighLevel |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Launch: $97 a month, or $81 a month billed yearly | Starter: $97 a month, or $970 a year |
| Middle plan | Scale: $197 a month, or $164 a month billed yearly | Unlimited: $297 a month, or $2,970 a year |
| Top plan | Optimize: $297 a month ($248 billed yearly); Dominate: $5,997 a year | Agency Pro: $497 a month, or $4,970 a year |
| Businesses on the entry plan | 1 workspace | Up to 3 sub-accounts |
| Contacts on the entry plan | 10,000 contacts, 50,000 emails a month | Unlimited contacts, email sends billed by usage |
| Team members on the entry plan | 2 | Unlimited users |
| Texting | Through your own Twilio or Bandwidth account | Built in, billed per message |
| White-label | Not advertised | From Unlimited, on your own domain |
| Courses and memberships | Built in | Included (membership and course offers) |
The headline prices hide two cost models. ClickFunnels caps contacts and email sends by plan, so a growing list pushes you up a tier (Scale allows 75,000 contacts and 300,000 emails a month). GoHighLevel does not cap contacts, but texts, calls, email sends and premium AI features are billed by usage on top, so a busy account costs more than $97.

This is ClickFunnels' home ground. The pieces a solo seller needs sit in one place: landing and sales pages, checkout, A/B testing, email sequences, courses and a members' area. A 'free guide, then a low-priced offer, then a course' path can be built without connecting other tools, and most people get a first funnel live within days.
GoHighLevel's funnel builder is capable, but reviewers consistently describe it as more complex than the ClickFunnels editor. In practice its funnels are usually a means to an end: a landing page that feeds the CRM and starts text and email follow-up.

ClickFunnels added its CRM later. You get contacts, pipelines (it calls deals Opportunities), booking pages you can embed in funnels, and MessageHub, which brings text, Messenger, WhatsApp and email conversations into one inbox. The CRM features launched as a beta, and reviewers still call them basic for anything beyond tracking leads into a sales call.
In GoHighLevel the CRM is the product: multiple pipelines, tasks, notes, custom fields, calendars with reminders, one inbox for texts, email, calls and social messages, automated review requests, and unlimited contacts on every plan. For a dental clinic, roofer or law firm that lives on calls and appointments, that depth matters more than a prettier sales page.
A simple test: if a lead needs more than two or three human touches before buying, you want the deeper CRM.
Texting is often the deciding factor for service businesses.
ClickFunnels sends texts through MessageHub only after you connect your own Twilio or Bandwidth account. That means a second provider, a second bill and carrier registration handled there. A request on ClickFunnels' own feedback board asks for native bulk SMS because large broadcasts through Twilio are awkward, which tells you texting is not its strength.
GoHighLevel has texting and calling built in (it calls this LC Phone). At the time of writing its US rate is $0.00747 per message segment, outbound and inbound, plus $1.15 a month for a local number. Carrier fees come on top, about $0.0035 to $0.0050 per outbound segment depending on the network, and US business texting needs A2P 10DLC registration (for a low-volume brand, a one-off $22.50 plus $1.50 to $10.50 a month per campaign). A segment is 160 plain characters, or 70 if the message has an emoji.
Worked example: 2,000 short outbound texts a month costs roughly $22 to $25 in message and carrier fees, before replies, the number and registration. Not expensive, but not inside the $97 either. Missed-call text-back, where a missed call automatically sends the caller a text, is one of the most common reasons local businesses choose GoHighLevel. Rates differ outside the US, so check your own country.
Both can start a sequence when someone opts in, buys or books.
The more channels a workflow touches, the more ways it can break. Test any multi-step workflow on a dummy contact before it goes near real customers.
This is where the two stop being comparable.
ClickFunnels keeps separate businesses apart in workspaces: 1 on Launch, 5 on Scale, 10 on Optimize and 20 on Dominate. That suits a person with a few brands of their own. For an agency, the limits are real: ClickFunnels does not advertise white-label, so clients see its brand, and there is no built-in way to resell the software or rebill usage.
GoHighLevel is designed for this. Unlimited ($297) gives unlimited sub-accounts, white-label on your own domain, and rebilling of phone and email usage at cost. Agency Pro ($497) adds SaaS mode, so you can sell the platform as your own subscription product, and rebilling with a markup. A white-label mobile app is a separate $497 a month add-on. Snapshots save one client set-up (workflows, funnels, calendars, forms, campaigns, custom fields) to load into the next.
With 10 clients the maths looks close: ClickFunnels Optimize and GoHighLevel Unlimited are both $297 a month, about $30 per client. At 30 clients, GoHighLevel is still $297 plus usage, while ClickFunnels' largest plan stops at 20 workspaces. Add white-label and rebilling, and GoHighLevel is the clear agency choice of the two.
ClickFunnels is the easier start: pick a template, edit the pages, connect payments and a domain. The hard part is the marketing logic (what to offer, in what order), not the software.
GoHighLevel has a steep learning curve, and nearly every review says so. There are many menus, the interface can feel cluttered, and a proper client set-up involves phone numbers, carrier registration, calendars, pipelines, workflows and reporting. A whole market of consultants and ready-made snapshots exists to shorten it. Plan on weeks, not days, before your first client account runs the way you want.
Be honest about your time. If you will not spend a few evenings learning the system, its extra power will sit unused while you pay for it.

If neither feels right, our guides to ClickFunnels alternatives for small business and GoHighLevel alternatives compare the wider field.
Many small business owners searching this comparison need neither tool. They need a proper website, a funnel or two for an offer, and a CRM that catches the leads, without weeks of set-up. That is the gap WebNewBiz aims at (it is our product, so weigh this section accordingly).
You describe your business in plain language and the AI drafts the whole site, which you then change by chatting with the AI Copilot. The funnel builder sits inside the AI CRM: describe the offer and it drafts a multi-step funnel (landing page, opt-in, thank-you page), or start from one of 26 templates, then edit each step in a drag-and-drop editor. Opt-ins land in the CRM as contacts and can trigger workflow automations, for example on a form submission, a scheduled date or a birthday. Website enquiries and store buyers land there too, and hosting and SSL come in the same plan.
At the time of writing, the CRM and funnels start on Growth at $79 a month (3,000 contacts, 3 team members). Email campaigns, social media and other marketing automation tools are on Pro at $149, and two-way texting from your own business number is on Ultimate at $199. Every plan is $1 for the first month, with no minimum contract.
The honest limits:
For agencies there is a white-label website builder for agencies option: your own brand and dashboard domain, client accounts on plans you define, and your own Stripe or PayPal account so clients pay you at your own prices. Agency pricing is not published.
Is GoHighLevel better than ClickFunnels?
Not overall. GoHighLevel is better for agencies and service businesses that need a deep CRM, built-in texting and many client accounts under their own brand. ClickFunnels is better for solo sellers and course creators who want funnels, checkout and courses live quickly.
Which is cheaper, GoHighLevel or ClickFunnels?
Both start at $97 a month at the time of writing (October 2026). ClickFunnels caps contacts and emails by plan; GoHighLevel has unlimited contacts but bills texts, calls, email and AI by usage. For many clients, GoHighLevel is much cheaper per client.
Can ClickFunnels send text messages?
Yes, through its MessageHub inbox, but you must connect your own Twilio or Bandwidth account and pay that provider for messages. GoHighLevel has texting built in and bills it per message.
Can I white-label ClickFunnels for clients?
ClickFunnels does not advertise a white-label option, so clients see its brand. GoHighLevel lets agencies brand the web app on their own domain from the Unlimited plan and resell it as their own software on Agency Pro.
Is GoHighLevel hard to learn?
Yes, most reviews describe a steep learning curve. Expect weeks rather than days to set up a client account properly, which is why a market of consultants and ready-made snapshots exists around it.
Is there a simpler option with a website, funnels and a CRM in one plan?
WebNewBiz drafts your website with AI and includes an AI funnel builder and CRM from its Growth plan at $79 a month, with the first month for $1. Its agency programme is younger than GoHighLevel's and its texting is lighter, so it suits small businesses best.
