Systeme.io is the low-cost pick for creators and course sellers. GoHighLevel is the heavy-duty choice for agencies that live on calls and texts. Here is how to tell which you need.
Systeme.io and GoHighLevel both promise to replace a stack of separate tools, but they are built for very different people. Systeme.io is a low-cost, beginner-friendly platform for creators, coaches and course sellers. GoHighLevel (often just called HighLevel) is a heavy, agency-grade system built around CRM, phone calls and text messages. Many comparisons of the two earn a commission when you sign up. We earn nothing from either, and we say plainly near the end where our own product fits. Below: prices at the time of writing (October 2026), strengths, weak spots and what a typical month really costs.

If you sell courses, coaching or digital products and want funnels and email without a big monthly bill, choose Systeme.io. Its free plan does not expire, paid plans start at $17 a month and email sending is unlimited on every plan.
If you run an agency or a local business where leads arrive by phone and text and expect a quick reply, choose GoHighLevel. It has a phone system, two-way texting, a shared inbox, review requests and very deep automation. It starts at $97 a month, with calls, texts and emails charged on top.
Systeme.io was built as an all-in-one kit for people selling online: funnels, email, courses, a blog and an affiliate programme in one account, with a free plan that needs no card. Its design favours simplicity: fewer settings, fewer menus, fewer places to get lost.
GoHighLevel was built for marketing agencies serving local businesses such as dentists, gyms and roofers. Its core is a CRM with pipelines, an inbox that pulls SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram messages and live chat into one stream, calendars, calls and workflow automation. Websites, funnels and courses sit on top. Put simply, Systeme.io is a creator tool that has added agency features, and GoHighLevel is an agency tool that has added creator features.
US list prices from each vendor's own pricing page, billed monthly:
| Plan | Per month | Main limits |
|---|---|---|
| Systeme.io Free | $0 | 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 automation rule |
| Systeme.io Startup | $17 | 5,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses |
| Systeme.io Webinar | $47 | 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses, evergreen webinars |
| Systeme.io Unlimited | $97 | No caps on contacts, funnels, courses or automation rules |
| GoHighLevel Starter | $97 | 3 client sub-accounts, unlimited contacts and users |
| GoHighLevel Unlimited | $297 | Unlimited sub-accounts, usage rebilled to clients at cost, basic API |
| GoHighLevel Agency Pro | $497 | SaaS mode, automatic sub-account creation, usage rebilled with a markup |
Yearly billing on both works out at about two months free: Systeme.io Startup is $170 a year and GoHighLevel Starter is $970 a year. GoHighLevel offers a 14-day free trial; Systeme.io has its permanent free plan.
The bigger difference sits outside the table. Systeme.io's price is close to the whole price: emails are unlimited and it takes no transaction fee on sales (Stripe or PayPal still take their normal cut). GoHighLevel's price is a platform fee, and emails, texts, calls, phone numbers and premium AI are billed by usage on top.

Systeme.io's drag-and-drop funnel builder has what product sellers use most: order bumps, one-click upsells, countdown timers, coupon codes and A/B tests. Around it sit courses with drip content, paid or free communities, a booking calendar that can take deposits, evergreen webinars (from the $47 Webinar plan), a blog, a website on your own domain and an affiliate programme with automated payouts. For a creator, that is close to a whole business in one login.
The weak spot is design. Templates and layout controls are basic, and some reviewers find mobile layouts fiddly to adjust. It is fine for funnels and course pages, less so for a polished brand website.
GoHighLevel has websites, funnels, webinar funnels, courses and communities too, with more settings at every step. Its real advantage is what happens after the form: an opt-in can trigger a text within seconds, drop the lead into a pipeline and offer a booking slot. Many agencies start from ready-made account setups (HighLevel calls them snapshots) rather than a blank page. If you are also weighing a funnel-first tool, see our GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels comparison.
Systeme.io gives you broadcasts, sequences and a workflow builder with triggers, conditions and actions, with unlimited sends on every plan. The limit that bites is automation rules: the free plan allows one, and the $97 Unlimited plan has no cap. For a welcome sequence, a cart reminder, course access and a weekly newsletter, it is enough for most creators.
Texting in Systeme.io is narrower than many people expect. You can add a Send SMS step to a workflow, but you connect your own Twilio account and pay Twilio for each message. It is one-way automated messaging: Systeme.io's own white-label page says two-way SMS conversations are not offered.
GoHighLevel's workflow builder is one of the deepest at this price. Triggers come from forms, calendars, pipeline stages, payments and incoming messages, and actions can branch, wait, assign tasks, alert staff and reach people by email, text, WhatsApp or voicemail drop. The catch is cost and care: email through HighLevel's own sending service costs $0.675 per 1,000 messages (incoming mail counts too), and a badly built workflow can text the wrong list as quickly as the right one.
This is where the two are furthest apart. Systeme.io's CRM covers the basics: contacts with tags, a Kanban-style pipeline with your own deal stages, and follow-up emails or tasks that fire when a deal moves. That suits a coach tracking a few dozen sales conversations a month.
GoHighLevel is a full sales and service desk: pipelines with lead scoring, one inbox for texts, social messages and live chat, business numbers with call tracking, review requests, paid bookings with reminders, and AI that can answer chats and calls (billed by usage). Every plan includes unlimited contacts and users, so five staff cost no more in seats than one.
HighLevel's help centre lists these US usage rates at the time of writing:
Rates outside the US differ, so check the figures for your country before you budget.
Systeme.io has changed a lot here, so older reviews saying it has no agency features are out of date.
GoHighLevel's agency model is more mature and more expensive. Starter ($97) allows three sub-accounts, enough to test but not to run an agency. Unlimited ($297) removes the cap and lets you rebill phone and email usage to clients at cost. Agency Pro ($497) adds SaaS mode, where clients subscribe to your branded plans and their accounts are created automatically, and lets you add a markup on usage.
HighLevel says you can white-label the desktop web app but does not tie it to a plan on its pricing page; in practice most agencies start on Unlimited. A branded mobile app is a separate add-on at $497 a month. Around all this sits a large ecosystem of setup partners, templates and training that Systeme.io cannot match. If reselling is the main attraction, our guide to GoHighLevel SaaS mode alternatives compares other routes.
Most people can publish an opt-in page and a welcome email in Systeme.io in an afternoon. The menus are short, the defaults are sensible and the free plan lets you practise without paying. The trade-off is fewer options once you outgrow it.
Reviewers consistently describe GoHighLevel's learning curve as steep. A proper setup means pipelines, calendars, phone numbers, texting registration, email sending, domains and workflows, often for each client. Plan on weeks rather than days, and budget for templates, a setup partner or training if you are new to it. Support is available around the clock, though reviewers' experiences of it vary.
A simple test: write down the three automations you need in your first month. If all three are emails, most of GoHighLevel's extra depth will sit unused.
These use the US prices and usage rates above, billed monthly. They are estimates before tax, card processing and carrier fees, and they count outgoing texts and calls only.
| Scenario | Systeme.io | GoHighLevel |
|---|---|---|
| Course creator: 4,000 contacts, two emails a week (about 32,000 sends), no texting | Startup: $17, emails included | Starter $97 + about $22 of email = about $119 |
| Local business: 3,000 contacts, 10,000 emails, 1,500 texts, 400 outbound call minutes, one number | Startup: $17, but no calls or two-way texting, so you need a separate phone tool | Starter $97 + about $26 of usage = about $123, plus the one-off texting registration |
| Agency with 10 clients: each sends 5,000 emails and 300 texts, makes 200 outbound call minutes and has its own number | Unlimited: $97 with unlimited sub-accounts, but no calls or two-way texting | Unlimited $297 + about $101 of usage = about $398, with usage rebillable to clients at cost |
The pattern is clear. Systeme.io stays cheap as long as you do not need the phone. GoHighLevel's bill grows with activity, which is fair when calls and texts turn into paying customers and painful when they do not. Replies and incoming calls add to its figures. An agency can pass usage on to clients, but the platform fee is its own cost from day one.
There is a third kind of agency that neither serves perfectly: one whose main product is the client's website, with a funnel and a CRM as the follow-up. For that agency, Systeme.io's site builder is basic, and GoHighLevel is a lot of system to learn and pay for if clients rarely text.
WebNewBiz is built website-first. You describe the client's business in plain language, the AI drafts a complete site (pages, layout and copy), and you change it by chatting with the AI Copilot. The AI CRM scores leads, tracks deals, tasks and bookings, and sends invoices that chase themselves, and website enquiries land in it automatically. Its AI funnel builder drafts a multi-step funnel (landing page, opt-in, thank-you page) from a description of the offer, or you start from one of 26 templates and edit each step in a drag-and-drop editor. Workflow automations run on triggers such as a form submission or a date, and the Pro plan adds email campaigns and social posting to its marketing automation.
The white-label website builder puts your name, logo and colours on the dashboard at your own domain, such as app.youragency.com. You create client accounts on plans with limits, log in as a client to do the work or let them self-serve, and sell your own packages at your own prices through your own Stripe or PayPal account. The CRM side is explained in white-label CRM for agencies.
The honest limits:
For a single business rather than an agency, plans run from Lite at $9 a month to Ultimate at $199, and the CRM starts on Growth at $79. For a wider list, see our GoHighLevel alternatives.
Is Systeme.io cheaper than GoHighLevel?
Yes, for almost everyone. Systeme.io has a free plan and paid plans from $17 to $97 a month with unlimited email. GoHighLevel costs $97 to $497 a month, and emails, texts and calls are charged on top by usage.
Can Systeme.io replace GoHighLevel for an agency?
Partly. Systeme.io now includes unlimited sub-accounts and white label on every plan, which covers funnels, email and courses for clients. It cannot replace two-way texting, a phone system, a shared inbox or reputation management.
Does GoHighLevel charge extra for emails and texts?
Yes. At the time of writing, US rates are $0.675 per 1,000 emails, $0.00747 per text segment plus carrier fees, $0.0166 a minute for outbound calls and $1.15 a month per local number.
Which is easier to learn?
Systeme.io. Most people publish a first funnel in an afternoon. GoHighLevel takes weeks to set up well, and many agencies pay for templates, setup help or training.
Which is better for selling online courses?
Systeme.io for most creators. Courses, communities, evergreen webinars and an affiliate programme are built in and cheap. GoHighLevel has courses too, but you pay for agency tools you may never use.
Where does WebNewBiz fit?
It suits agencies whose main product is client websites: the AI drafts each site, the AI CRM and funnel builder handle follow-up, and the dashboard carries the agency's brand. It is younger than GoHighLevel and not built for heavy texting or courses.
If your agency mainly sells websites and wants funnels and a CRM under its own brand, the simplest next step is to talk to us about white-label. We will show you how client accounts and packages work, with no pressure. You can also look around the AI website builder first, or try the free AI Website Preview, which designs a homepage from one sentence. For a single business, you can start for $1 and cancel any time. And if Systeme.io or GoHighLevel suits you better, that is a good outcome too.
