Dubsado, Bonsai, 17hats, Moxie, HubSpot and WebNewBiz compared on contracts, invoicing, booking and real cost, sorted by your reason for leaving HoneyBook.
HoneyBook is a good tool for service businesses that send proposals, contracts and invoices, and plenty of people are happy with it. People who leave usually have one of three reasons. The bill went up when an introductory price ended, their business is outside the four countries HoneyBook serves, or they want their website and client records in one place. This guide groups the alternatives by those reasons. It compares Dubsado, Bonsai, 17hats, Moxie, HubSpot and WebNewBiz on contracts, invoicing, booking and what you actually pay.

Be clear about your own reason before you compare anything, because the best replacement is different for each one.
At the time of writing (October 2026), HoneyBook's US prices billed yearly are $29 a month for Starter, $49 for Essentials and $109 for Premium. Billed monthly they are about $36, $59 and $129. Card processing fees come on top.
What catches people out is what each plan leaves out. Starter covers invoices, payments, proposals, contracts and a client portal. The scheduler, automations and team members only start at Essentials. So a solo photographer or coach who wants clients to book calls online is really paying $49 a month, not $29.
None of this makes HoneyBook a bad deal. Its proposals, contracts and payment flow are polished. If you are in one of its four countries and the price works for you, staying is a reasonable choice. But $49 billed yearly is the honest number to compare against.
All prices are in US dollars and come from each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. Where a tool charges per user, multiply by the number of people on your team.
| Tool | E-signed contracts | Invoices | Client booking | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HoneyBook | Yes, all plans | Yes, all plans | Scheduler from Essentials | $29 to $109 a month billed yearly |
| Dubsado | Yes | Yes | Scheduler on Premier only | $335 or $525 a year ($35 or $55 monthly) |
| Bonsai | From Essentials | From Essentials | From Essentials | Essentials $19 per user billed yearly ($25 monthly) |
| Moxie | Yes, from Starter | Yes, from Starter | Yes, from Starter | $10 to $32 a month billed yearly ($12 to $40 monthly) |
| 17hats | Yes, on the paid plan | Yes (free plan: 4 a quarter) | Basic scheduling included, advanced is an add-on | $60 a month, $600 a year or $800 for two years |
| HubSpot | Only on Professional sales plans | Yes | Meetings link, free with branding | Free for 2 users; Starter $20 per seat at full price |
| WebNewBiz Growth | Not listed | Yes, invoices that chase themselves | Yes | $79 a month, $1 for the first month |

Four tools cover most of what HoneyBook does, either for less or for similar money with more included.
Moxie is the cheapest complete option for one person. Starter costs $12 a month ($10 billed yearly) and already includes proposals, contracts with e-signatures, invoicing, payments and meeting schedulers. Pro is $25 a month ($20 yearly) and adds workflow automations, a white-labelled client portal and a custom domain. Teams is $40 a month for up to five people. Moxie is built mainly for freelancers, so a growing team will hit its limits sooner than it would on Dubsado or HubSpot.
Bonsai charges per user. Contracts, proposals, invoices, forms, scheduling and a client portal all start on Essentials at $25 per user a month, or $19 billed yearly. If you are replacing HoneyBook, skip the cheaper Basic plan ($15, or $9 yearly): it has no invoicing or contracts. Because the bill grows with headcount, do the sum before you add people. Four users on Essentials comes to $76 a month billed yearly.
Dubsado is the closest like-for-like swap, with strong contracts, forms and workflows. Starter is $335 a year and Premier is $525 a year (roughly $28 and $44 a month), or $35 and $55 if you pay monthly. Up to three extra users are free. The scheduler and automated workflows are Premier only. Dubsado also raised its own prices in December 2025, so it is not immune to the problem you may be leaving behind.
17hats has one headline price: $60 a month, $600 a year or $800 for two years. At the time of writing its pricing page also offers 50% off the first year. Quotes, contracts that clients sign online, invoices and basic scheduling are included. Advanced scheduling, recurring billing and time tracking are paid add-ons, so add those up. Keep in mind that a first-year discount brings the same renewal jump you may be leaving HoneyBook to avoid.
Take a typical one-person service business, such as a photographer, coach or consultant, that needs e-signed contracts, invoices and online booking. Here is what twelve months costs. Most of these tools do not include a website, so add a website plan on top. Squarespace Core, for example, is $29 a month billed yearly, or $348 a year.
| Setup | 12 months | Still missing |
|---|---|---|
| HoneyBook Essentials, billed yearly | $588 | Website |
| Dubsado Premier, billed yearly | $525 | Website |
| Bonsai Essentials, 1 user, billed yearly | $228 | Website |
| Moxie Starter, billed yearly | $120 | Website; automations need Pro ($240) |
| 17hats, billed yearly at full price | $600 | Website, any add-ons |
| WebNewBiz Growth, billed monthly | $870 ($1, then 11 months at $79) | E-signed contracts |
On cost alone, Moxie and Bonsai clearly come out cheapest, even after you add a website. HoneyBook Essentials plus a $29 website plan comes to $936 a year, and Dubsado Premier plus the same plan comes to $873. WebNewBiz Growth costs more than any single client tool here. It only makes sense once you count what it replaces: the website plan and hosting, a store, the CRM and the booking page, all feeding one contact list. Yearly billing on WebNewBiz is cheaper than the monthly figure shown.
This is the one reason with no workaround. HoneyBook serves the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, and everyone else goes on a waiting list.
Dubsado, Bonsai and Moxie work differently. They connect to payment processors, mainly Stripe and PayPal, and let you invoice in other currencies. Dubsado says its Stripe-based payments support merchants in countries around the world. Bonsai works with Stripe in any country Stripe supports and invoices in over 100 currencies. Its own built-in payments only cover the same four countries as HoneyBook, though. Moxie supports multiple currencies through Stripe and PayPal. HubSpot sells internationally and its free CRM is a fair place to start anywhere. Before you rely on it for invoices, check that its payment features cover your country.
Before you commit to any of them, run these checks:
HoneyBook, Dubsado, Bonsai, Moxie and 17hats manage clients but do not build your website. You still pay for a site elsewhere, and enquiries only reach your CRM if you embed its forms or connect the two. Two options close that gap. Our guide to choosing a website builder with a CRM explains how this works day to day.
WebNewBiz builds the website and runs the CRM in the same account. You describe your business in plain language, the AI drafts the pages, layout and copy, and you change things by chatting with the AI Copilot. The Growth plan ($79 a month, $1 for the first month) includes hosting, an online store and the AI CRM. The CRM reads and scores leads, tracks deals, tasks and bookings, and sends invoices that chase themselves. Website enquiries land in the CRM automatically, and store buyers become contacts. Growth also covers 3,000 contacts, three team members, basic SEO tools, backups and a free domain for the first year. Full details are on the pricing page.
The honest limits: WebNewBiz does not list e-signature contracts. It is a young platform with a much smaller app ecosystem and community than the big names. There is no free plan, the cheaper Lite and Starter plans have no CRM, and the AI's first draft of your site still needs your own photos, prices and facts. There is no minimum contract. If you leave later, your content and domain move with you, but the layout has to be rebuilt elsewhere.
HubSpot is the other route. Its free tools include a CRM for up to two users, one meetings link for booking and a small website, both with HubSpot branding. Starter costs $20 per seat a month at full price. At the time of writing, its pricing page shows a limited-time discount for new customers, which is worth remembering given why many people leave HoneyBook. The catch is contracts: e-signatures on quotes need HubSpot's Professional sales tier, which costs a lot more. HubSpot suits a business that expects to grow into a sales team more than a solo creative who lives on proposals.
Wedding suppliers, event planners, photographers and agencies often send a contract with every job. For businesses like these, the contract tool matters more than anything else on this page.
Dubsado collects e-signatures on contracts and sub-agreements and ties them to forms, payment plans and workflows. Bonsai includes contract templates that it says are reviewed by lawyers. 17hats can send a quote, contract and invoice together, and Moxie handles signed agreements well for one person. If you are choosing between the two closest tools, our HoneyBook vs Dubsado comparison covers them in more detail.
WebNewBiz does not list e-signature contracts. If signed agreements are central to how you work, Dubsado or Bonsai will serve you better. You could pair WebNewBiz with a separate signing tool, but that adds another subscription.
If you work alone and want a longer list, our guide to the best CRM for freelancers covers more options.
What is the best HoneyBook alternative for a small business?
It depends on why you are leaving. Dubsado is the closest like-for-like swap for contracts, forms and workflows. Moxie is the cheapest complete option for one person. Bonsai suits small teams that want contracts and proposals. WebNewBiz suits businesses that want the website and CRM in one account.
Is there a free alternative to HoneyBook?
Not a complete one. HubSpot's free CRM covers up to two users and includes a meetings link. 17hats has a free CRM limited to four invoices a quarter. Neither gives you e-signed contracts for free.
Can I use HoneyBook outside the US?
Yes, but only in Canada, the UK and Australia at the time of writing (October 2026). Businesses in other countries can join HoneyBook's waiting list but cannot use it yet.
Which HoneyBook alternative is best for contracts?
Dubsado and Bonsai are the strongest choices for contract-heavy work, and Moxie and 17hats also include e-signed contracts. WebNewBiz does not list e-signature contracts, so it is not the right pick if every job starts with a signed agreement.
Is Dubsado cheaper than HoneyBook?
Slightly, for most solo businesses. Dubsado Premier, which includes the scheduler and workflows, is $525 a year. HoneyBook Essentials billed yearly is $588 a year. Dubsado also adds up to three extra users at no charge.
Can one tool handle my website, CRM and invoices?
Yes. HubSpot's free tools include a small branded website and a CRM, though e-signed quotes need an expensive upgrade. WebNewBiz Growth ($79 a month, $1 for the first month) includes the website, online store, AI CRM, bookings and invoices that chase themselves, but not e-signature contracts.
If contracts are the centre of your work, Dubsado or Bonsai will probably serve you better, and that is a perfectly good choice. If you would rather keep your website, enquiries, bookings and invoices together, look at the AI website builder and what the Growth plan includes. To see the website side first, the free AI Website Preview designs a homepage from one sentence about your business. Start for $1: the first month costs $1, there is no contract and you can cancel any time.
