Hostinger and GoDaddy both start under $10 a month. Here is what each really costs over two to three years once prepaid terms, renewals and store plans are counted.
Hostinger and GoDaddy both advertise website builders from a few dollars a month, and both now use AI to draft a site from a short description. The headline prices are real, but they hide very different deals. Hostinger's lowest price needs four years paid up front, and GoDaddy now sells credit-based Airo plans that do not print a renewal price. This guide compares what each costs over two to three years at the time of writing (October 2026), in US dollars. It also covers AI draft quality, store fees and the limits that matter to a small business.

If you want the lowest bill for a simple site and you are happy to pay for four years at once, Hostinger is hard to beat. Its Premium plan works out at $2.99 a month, but that means $143.52 at checkout for 48 months, and it renews at $10.99 a month.
If your domain and email already live at GoDaddy, its Airo plans keep everything in one account. There is a free tier to try first, and paid plans start at $9.99 a month billed annually. The catch: the cheapest paid plan cannot run an online store, and GoDaddy does not print what you pay after year one.
If you need a store plus a proper way to follow up on leads and customers, neither is built around that. WebNewBiz is one option for that case, covered honestly below, and it is not the cheap option.
At the time of writing, Hostinger's website builder page lists three plans. All are paid up front, and the monthly figure is just the total divided by the number of months in the term.
Three things stand out. First, the Premium renewal is about 3.7 times the intro price, and the store plan's renewal is more than four times its intro price. Second, shorter terms cost more per month and reach the renewal price sooner. On a 12-month Premium term, years two and three alone cost $263.76 at $10.99 a month. Third, the 30-day money-back guarantee is your window to change your mind. After that, the four years are paid.
Support differs too. The Premium plan card lists chatbot support from Hostinger's AI agent, while the plan above it lists priority 24/7 expert support. If reaching a person quickly matters to you, check this before you pick the cheaper plan.
Many GoDaddy reviews online describe products new customers can no longer buy. GoDaddy's help centre announced that its older AI Website Builder would be discontinued on 31 July 2026. Those customers were moved to the classic Websites + Marketing builder or offered Airo AI Builder instead. An independent pricing tracker re-checked GoDaddy's pages in October 2026. It found that new US customers are now offered Airo plans, and that the familiar Basic, Premium and Commerce plans no longer appear on the US pricing pages.
Airo AI Builder runs on monthly AI credits. You describe what you want and it builds a website, store or simple booking tool, and each AI generation uses up part of your allowance. The US plans at the time of writing:
GoDaddy says annual plans include an extra first-year discount, but its plan pages do not show the renewal price. For context, as of August 2026, customers on the classic plans were renewing at $16.99, $29.99 and $34.99 a month. Their first-year prices had been $9.99, $14.99 and $20.99. Check the renewal price in your cart or with support before you pay for a year.

Here is what each plan costs if you keep it for three years, using the prices above. GoDaddy's totals are a minimum, because its renewal price is not printed and year one includes an extra discount.
| Plan | Paid at checkout | Total over 3 years | Price after that | Online store |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Premium (48-month term) | $143.52 | $143.52 (covers 4 years) | $10.99 a month from year 5 | No |
| Hostinger Unlimited (48-month term) | $191.52 | $191.52 (covers 4 years) | $16.99 a month from year 5 | Yes |
| GoDaddy Airo Starter (annual) | $119.88 | At least $359.64 | Not printed | No, payment links only |
| GoDaddy Airo Professional (annual) | $299.88 | At least $899.64 | Not printed | Yes |
| WebNewBiz Starter (monthly) | $1 | $1,016 | $29 a month | Yes |
| WebNewBiz Growth (monthly, with AI CRM) | $1 | $2,766 | $79 a month | Yes |
Read the table two ways. On price alone, Hostinger on a 48-month term wins by a wide margin. But it is also the only option that takes four years of money on day one, and the low rate lasts only as long as that term. Your business, its name or its website may change within two years. If they do, the cheapest deal becomes money paid for a site you no longer use.
Both builders produce a first draft in under a minute. Neither produces a finished website.
In a hands-on review published in 2026, Hostinger's AI built a site in about 19 seconds. However, it ignored the business name in the prompt and made up its own. The reviewer found the result underwhelming, though it included the key sections for the test business. You then refine the draft in a drag-and-drop editor with a grid, which beginners tend to find easy.
Reviewers of GoDaddy's earlier AI builder found the copy generic, the kind that could fit any business in the same trade. They also found the section-based editor limited for design changes. The newer Airo AI Builder is more flexible because you keep prompting it, but that means you keep spending credits. GoDaddy says it can export your code as a ZIP file, which is unusual for a budget builder.
Use GoDaddy's free tier and Hostinger's 30-day money-back window to run the same test on both:
Hostinger puts ecommerce on the plan above Premium. Its page promises 0% transaction fees from Hostinger and more than 100 payment methods. Reviewers also mention abandoned-cart recovery and print-on-demand through Printful. The limits are real, though. Reviews from 2026 quote product caps between 500 and 1,000, and there are no subscriptions or product bundles. There is also no app market to add what is missing. Reviewers describe it as suitable for smaller sellers, which is fair.
GoDaddy leaves selling out of the cheapest Airo plan. Starter gives you payment links and QR codes, which is enough for a consultant taking deposits but not for a shop. Professional adds a product catalogue, online payments with deposits and appointments, at $299.88 for the first year billed annually. The Airo plan pages do not print a card fee, so find out what it is before you set prices.
If the store is the main business rather than a side channel, a platform built for ecommerce will grow further than either of these. Our guide to the best AI ecommerce website builders compares those options.
Before paying, think about how you would leave.
If neither feels right, our roundups of Hostinger website builder alternatives and GoDaddy website builder alternatives cover the main options.
WebNewBiz is a third option for a smaller group of buyers: people who want a website, an online store and a CRM on one platform, billed monthly.
You describe your business in plain language and the AI drafts a complete site (pages, layout and copy). You then change it by chatting with the AI Copilot. The Starter plan ($29 a month) adds the Design Studio visual editor and an online store with card, Apple Pay and Google Pay checkout. Growth ($79 a month) adds the AI CRM, with 3,000 contacts and 3 team members. Website enquiries land in the CRM automatically and store buyers become contacts, so you do not need a separate tool for follow-up. Every plan includes hosting, SSL and 24/7 chat support.
The honest trade-offs:
It makes most sense when the alternative is a cheap builder plus separate paid tools for leads, bookings and follow-up. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid period. After that the account stays read-only, so you can still export your content.
Whichever you pick, write down what you will pay in month 13 and month 37 before you commit. If a vendor cannot tell you, treat that as part of the answer.
Is Hostinger cheaper than GoDaddy for a website builder?
Usually, yes. Hostinger Premium costs $143.52 for 48 months paid up front, while GoDaddy's Airo Starter costs $119.88 for one year billed annually. The gap narrows on shorter Hostinger terms, because Premium renews at $10.99 a month.
What does Hostinger's website builder cost after the intro term?
At the time of writing (October 2026), Premium renews at $10.99 a month and the Unlimited plan, which includes ecommerce, renews at $16.99 a month.
Can I sell online on GoDaddy's cheapest plan?
Not with a full store. Airo Starter offers payment links and QR codes only. A product catalogue and online payments start on Professional, at $24.99 a month billed annually or $49.99 billed monthly.
Does Hostinger charge transaction fees?
Hostinger says it charges 0% transaction fees on store sales. Your payment provider still charges its normal card processing fee.
Do Hostinger or GoDaddy have a free plan?
GoDaddy has a free Airo tier with 50 AI credits a month, but a custom domain needs a paid plan and sites on the default address are kept out of search results. Hostinger has no free plan but offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
