Eight builders that will draft a website from a description: what their AI really makes, what they cost after the intro offer, and who each one suits.
Almost every website builder now has an AI button, and most of them will produce a plausible homepage in under a minute. That part no longer separates them. What does is everything after it: how easily you can change the draft, whether the site can take payments and track enquiries, what it costs once the introductory price ends, and if you can ever leave. Below are eight builders worth considering in October 2026, with who each one suits and its main catch. We make one of them, so we have tried to be especially plain about where the others are better.
An AI demo is built to impress in sixty seconds. These questions matter in month six.
Prices below are the US prices each company showed in October 2026, per month on annual billing unless stated, before tax. Several charge different amounts in different countries, so check the price you see at checkout.
| Builder | Best for | Online store | Contacts and CRM | Paid plans from | Main catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WebNewBiz | Website, store and CRM in one system | Yes, from Starter ($29) | AI CRM from Growth ($79) | $9 (Lite); first month $1 | Young platform, small app ecosystem |
| Wix | The most features and add-ons | Yes, from Core ($29) | Contacts, inbox, quotes, invoices | $17 (Light, no payments) | The site cannot leave Wix |
| Squarespace | Polished design, little effort | Yes, 2% fee on Basic | Contacts, client tools, invoicing | $19 (Basic) | Few AI credits on Basic, partial export |
| Hostinger | Lowest price for a simple site | Yes, 0% transaction fees | Forms and email marketing | $2.99 (48 months upfront) | Renews at $10.99 |
| Framer | Design-led brands | No built-in checkout | Forms, no built-in CRM | $10 (Basic) | Selling needs Shopify; no HTML export |
| Durable | Service businesses | Not designed for it | Built-in CRM and bookings | $22 (Launch) | Simple sites, no HTML editing |
| 10Web | WordPress, built by AI | Yes, WooCommerce | Through WordPress plugins | $10 (AI Starter) | More to learn than Wix |
| Webflow | Full design control | From $29, 2% fee on Standard | Forms, CRM through integrations | $15 (Basic site plan) | Steep learning curve |
This is not a ranking. The right builder is the one whose catch you can live with.
Who it suits: a small business that wants to sell and follow up with customers without stitching together a builder, a store app and a separate CRM.
What the AI builds: you describe the business in plain language and it drafts a complete site, with pages, layout and copy, ready to edit in the browser. Or start from a template and let the AI fill it. Afterwards the AI Copilot changes copy, sections, pages, design and images when you ask in a chat, with no drag-and-drop maze. From Starter there is also the Design Studio visual editor.
The online store has a cart and secure checkout, takes cards through Stripe plus Apple Pay and Google Pay, and runs on WooCommerce, Shopify or our own engine. From Growth, the AI CRM reads and scores leads, tracks deals, tasks and bookings, and sends invoices that chase themselves. Site enquiries land in it automatically and store buyers become contacts.
Price: every plan is $1 for the first month. Then Lite is $9 a month (website only), Starter $29 (adds the store), Growth $79 (adds the CRM), Pro $149 and Ultimate $199. Yearly billing is cheaper, there is no minimum contract, and hosting, SSL and 24/7 chat support are on every plan. See the pricing page.
The catch: it is a young platform with a much smaller app ecosystem and community than Wix, Squarespace or Shopify. The first draft still needs your own edits, photos and facts. The cheapest plan has no store or CRM, so the all-in-one setup means Growth at $79, which is not the cheapest route if you only need a brochure site.
Who it suits: anyone who wants the most features and add-ons, and expects to stay on Wix long term.
What the AI builds: Wix Harmony, launched in January 2026, is now Wix's flagship builder. Its AI agent, Aria, generates a full site from your business details, then takes plain-language requests, from changing colours to redesigning a page or adding a store. You can switch to precise drag-and-drop editing at any time, and Wix says Aria needs no extra AI credits.
Wix also has the most mature business toolkit here: contacts that fill up from forms and purchases, a shared inbox, quotes and invoices, bookings and a large app market. We compare it with us directly in WebNewBiz vs Wix.
Price: there is a free plan on a Wix address. Light costs $17 a month but cannot accept payments; Core, at $29, is the cheapest plan that can.
The catch: a Wix site cannot go anywhere else. Wix's help centre says it must run on Wix's servers, so leaving means rebuilding by hand. Our list of Wix alternatives covers the options.
Who it suits: creatives, consultants, restaurants and small shops who care how the site looks and do not want to fiddle.
What the AI builds: Blueprint AI takes a description of your business in your own words and produces a multi-page starting point with pages, copy, imagery, colours and fonts. You refine it in a drag-and-drop editor, with an AI assistant for changes and text-to-image generation. The designs are reliably tasteful. There is also a contacts panel with order history, client intake and CRM tools, recurring invoices, and email campaigns as an add-on.
Price: At the time of writing, Squarespace's US plans are Basic at $19 a month on annual billing, Core at $29, Plus at $49 and Advanced at $99; paying monthly costs more, and prices vary by country. Basic takes a 2% fee on store sales; Core removes it.
The catch: AI use runs on credits, and Basic gets only 10, once; Core gets 20 a month. Export is partial: Squarespace produces a WordPress-format file, but store pages, product blocks, style settings and custom CSS are left out (products can be downloaded separately as a spreadsheet).
Who it suits: anyone who wants a small site or simple shop for the least money and does not mind committing for years.
What the AI builds: describe what you need and Hostinger's AI Builder produces a complete site with layout, copy and images, which you finish in a drag-and-drop editor. AI tools help with copy, logos and product pages, and the store handles physical and digital products and services with 0% transaction fees. (Hostinger's separate Horizons product is for web apps.)
Price: the headline is $2.99 a month for Premium, but plans are paid upfront and that figure means $143.52 for 48 months. It then renews at $10.99 a month. Unlimited is $3.99 on the same terms, renewing at $16.99.
The catch: the long prepayment, the renewal jump, and export. Hostinger can send your pages, text and images to WordPress, but not the layout, store, forms, submissions or SEO settings. For leads you get form submissions and email marketing rather than a sales CRM.
Who it suits: designers, studios, start-ups and brands for whom the look of the site is the product.
What the AI builds: Framer's AI agent creates pages, sections, copy and visuals from a description as ordinary editable layers, not a locked template, and can check a site for contrast problems, typos, missing alt text and SEO gaps. You keep refining in the chat or take over on Framer's canvas, which gives fine control over layout and animation.
Price: free to try on a Framer address. Basic is $10 a month on yearly billing with 1,000 AI credits a month; Pro is $30.
The catch: there is no built-in cart or checkout, so selling physical products means connecting Shopify through a plugin and paying for a Shopify plan too. Framer's help centre also confirms there is no HTML export for self-hosting. Excellent for a striking site with no shop; the wrong start if the site has to sell.
Who it suits: a sole trader or local service business (a plumber, a cleaner, a consultant) who mainly needs to be found, get enquiries and take bookings.
What the AI builds: Durable says it can have a site online in about 30 seconds, and its plans bundle what a service business needs next: a built-in CRM, booking synced to your calendar, automatic lead capture and replies, and AI agents that write blog posts, research keywords and draft social posts.
Price: the free plan is a private preview. Launch is $22 a month on yearly billing ($25 monthly) with unlimited CRM contacts; Grow is $41 ($49 monthly).
The catch: Durable says plainly it is not designed for e-commerce businesses, and as a no-code product it does not let you edit the HTML. Sites are simpler than Wix's or Framer's. If the CRM is the draw, our guide to choosing a website builder with a CRM goes deeper.
Who it suits: people who want WordPress, with its plugins and familiar dashboard, without assembling it by hand.
What the AI builds: a complete WordPress site, with layout, colours, typography, pages, text and images, on 10Web's managed hosting. You edit by chatting with the AI co-pilot or in a drag-and-drop editor, and the store runs on WooCommerce.
Price: AI Starter is $10 a month on a yearly plan ($120 for 12 months) for one site and 100 AI credits a month. Paying monthly costs roughly twice as much.
The catch: WordPress underneath is both the strength and the weakness. You get the plugin ecosystem and one of the more portable sites here, but more to learn than on Wix or Squarespace, and the CRM is whatever plugins you add.
Who it suits: designers and marketing teams who want complete control of the layout and will learn a professional tool.
What the AI builds: Webflow AI turns a prompt into a full site, generates new sections that follow your existing design, and helps audit SEO. The result lands in Webflow's Designer, which exposes real web layout concepts. Professionals like that; many small business owners find it hard going.
Price: site plans start at $15 a month (Basic, billed yearly), with a CMS plan at $25. Selling needs an Ecommerce plan, from $29 a month with a 2% transaction fee on Standard. AI features draw on workspace credits.
The catch: the learning curve, and pricing split between site plans and workspace plans. In its favour, paid workspace plans include code export.

The full process is in how to build a website with AI.
What is the best AI website builder in 2026?
It depends on what the site has to do. Wix has the most features, Squarespace the easiest polished design, Hostinger the lowest starting price, Framer and Webflow the most design control, Durable suits service businesses, 10Web suits WordPress fans, and WebNewBiz suits a business that wants its website, store and CRM in one system.
Is there a free AI website builder?
Wix and Framer have free plans on their own web addresses, and Durable's free plan is a private preview. To use your own domain or take payments you will need a paid plan. Squarespace offers a 14-day free trial, and WebNewBiz charges $1 for the first month.
Can an AI website builder create an online store?
Most can. Wix (from Core), Squarespace, Hostinger, 10Web (through WooCommerce), Webflow (on its Ecommerce plans) and WebNewBiz (from Starter) include a cart and checkout. Framer has no built-in checkout, and Durable says it is not designed for e-commerce. Watch for transaction fees: Squarespace Basic and Webflow's Standard ecommerce plan charge 2%.
Will Google rank a website built with AI?
Google ranks pages, not the tools that made them, and says it rewards helpful content however it was produced. The risk is a generic draft with nothing specific about your business. Rewrite it in your own words, add real photos and details, and make sure you can edit page titles, descriptions and addresses.
Can I move my website to another builder later?
Your text, images, product list, contacts and domain can move; the design usually cannot. Wix sites must run on Wix's servers, Framer offers no HTML export, and Hostinger and Squarespace export only part of a site. Webflow's paid workspace plans include code export, and 10Web sites are WordPress. Either way, keep your domain in your own account.
The quickest way to choose is to let two or three of these draft a site for your business and notice which one you would rather keep editing. If WebNewBiz is on your shortlist, describe your business to the AI Website Builder and judge the draft yourself. Every plan is $1 for the first month and you can cancel any time. Start for $1 when you are ready, or try the others first. We would rather you ended up on the right one.
