Six tools compared on site building, built-in CRM, form-to-CRM lead capture, automations and true monthly cost, without HubSpot's jump from Starter to Professional.
Search for HubSpot CMS alternatives and you mostly find enterprise lists: WordPress, Sanity, Adobe Experience Manager. Those suit marketing teams with developers. This guide is for a small business that wants a good website and a CRM in the same place, and has noticed how steep the step is from HubSpot's Starter plan to Professional. We compare six options (Wix, Zoho Sites with Bigin, Systeme.io, Durable, GoHighLevel and WebNewBiz) on site building, the built-in CRM, form-to-CRM lead capture, automations and true monthly cost. We also say plainly when HubSpot is still the better choice.

HubSpot's CMS, now sold as Content Hub, is good software, so let us say that first. Its free CRM is one of the best available, forms on a HubSpot site drop straight into contact records, and its App Marketplace and free training are hard to match. For small businesses the problem is rarely quality. It is the price ladder.
At the time of writing (October 2026), HubSpot's product page lists Content Hub Starter from $20 per seat a month, with a lower introductory rate for new customers. That is fair. But Starter is capped at 30 website pages, and its automation is limited to simple workflows: one per form, with up to three actions (ten if you also have Marketing Hub Starter).
The next step is where small businesses stall. Content Hub Professional is listed from $500 a month with three seats, and that tier is where the advanced SEO tools, A/B testing and personalised content are. The full workflows tool needs a Professional subscription, and Marketing Hub Professional, the usual home for email automation, is listed from $890 a month. Buy both and you pay $1,390 a month before extra seats. HubSpot says Content Hub has no onboarding fee, but independent pricing guides report a one-off fee on Marketing Hub Professional.
So the real question is this: if you need a solid site, a CRM that catches every enquiry and some automatic follow-up, is there a cheaper tool that does all three well enough? For most small businesses, yes.
Feature lists all look alike. These five checks show whether a tool will actually work for you.
These are US list prices at the time of writing, billed yearly where the vendor offers it. Card processing fees apply on top almost everywhere.

Every Wix site includes a CRM. When someone submits a Wix form or buys something, a contact is created automatically. You also get a deal pipeline, tasks and reminders, quotes, invoices and automation rules, so a new enquiry can trigger a thank-you email and a follow-up task on its own. Wix sells paid upgrades if you outgrow the included email marketing allowance.
Plans are Light $17 a month (cannot take payments), Core $29, Business $39 and Business Elite $159, billed yearly. If you want to take deposits or sell anything, Core is the real starting price.
Pick it if you want design freedom and a large app market for bookings, events, menus and more. Skip it if your team will live in the CRM all day and needs detailed sales reporting: the Wix CRM is solid for a small business but lighter than HubSpot's. We cover it in more depth in does Wix have a CRM.
Zoho Sites relaunched in September 2026 with four plans: Lite at $1 a month (one page), Basic at $8 (5 pages, 2 forms), Plus at $15 (25 pages, 10 forms) and Advanced at $40 (100 pages, 50 forms). Bigin is Zoho's CRM for small teams. It is free for one user and 500 records, then Express costs $7 per user a month billed yearly ($9 monthly) and Premier $12 ($15 monthly).
The two connect through Bigin web forms. You build a form in Bigin and add it to a Zoho Sites page in one click, with no code. Each submission becomes a contact in Bigin, which can send the visitor an automatic acknowledgement email. Express includes 30 automations and 3 pipelines; Premier adds date and time-based triggers.
Pick it if cost is your main concern and you may grow into the wider Zoho suite (accounting, email, help desk). Skip it if you want everything inside one product. This is two apps with separate settings and subscriptions, and the new Zoho Sites plans are very fresh, so read a few reviews of the relaunch first.
Systeme.io began as a funnel and email tool and has grown into a small all-in-one: a website builder with multiple pages, a blog and a custom domain (even on the free plan), a Kanban-style deal pipeline, an automation builder with triggers, conditions and actions, and checkout pages. It charges no transaction fees of its own, and email sends are unlimited on every plan.
The free plan covers 2,000 contacts but only one automation rule. Paid plans are Startup at $17 a month (5,000 contacts), Webinar at $47 (10,000) and Unlimited at $97, with two months free on yearly billing.
Pick it if you sell courses, coaching or digital products and email is your main channel. Skip it if your website is your shop window. Systeme.io is built around funnels first, so a polished multi-page brand site takes more work than in Wix, and its CRM is a pipeline and tags rather than a full sales tool.
Durable builds a small business site from a few questions and is designed to get you online quickly. Paid plans include a built-in CRM, custom forms that capture leads and reply to them automatically, online booking synced to your calendar, and AI agents that publish blog posts, request reviews and research competitors. Launch is $22 a month billed yearly ($25 monthly) and Grow is $41 ($49 monthly). There is a free plan, but its CRM holds only 10 customers and it has no custom domain.
Pick it if you run a simple service business (cleaning, trades, consulting) and want to be online this afternoon. Skip it if you sell products: Durable says it is not designed specifically for e-commerce. If email newsletters or branching workflows matter, test them in a trial, because Durable's pricing page focuses on the site, the CRM and its AI agents.
Starter costs $97 a month, or $970 a year, and includes a website and funnel builder, a CRM with pipelines, a full workflow builder, forms and surveys, booking calendars, unlimited contacts and unlimited users. Texts, emails, calls and several AI features are billed on usage on top.
Pick it if you want automatic follow-up by email, SMS and phone, and you (or someone you hire) will spend real time building workflows. Skip it if you want something simple. GoHighLevel is built for agencies first (Starter comes with three sub-accounts), the dashboard is busy, and usage fees make the bill harder to predict.
WebNewBiz is our own product, so read this section with that in mind. You describe your business in plain language, the AI drafts a complete site (pages, layout and copy) and you change it by chatting with the AI Copilot. The online store comes with Starter ($29 a month) and the AI CRM with Growth ($79 a month, 3,000 contacts, three team members).
Website enquiries land in the CRM automatically and store buyers become contacts. The CRM reads and scores leads, tracks deals, tasks and bookings, and sends invoices that chase themselves. Workflow automations run on triggers such as a form submission, a scheduled date or a birthday. An AI funnel builder drafts landing, opt-in and thank-you pages, or you can start from one of 26 templates. Email campaigns and social media posting come with Pro at $149, so if newsletters are central to your marketing automation, budget for Pro. Every plan is $1 for the first month, with no minimum contract.
Pick it if you want the site, store and CRM together without connecting apps. Skip it if you need a big app ecosystem or community (Wix and HubSpot are far ahead), advanced content marketing tools, or a free plan. The platform is young, the cheapest plan (Lite, $9) has no store or CRM, and the AI's first draft still needs your own photos, facts and edits.
Take a two-person business that needs a site of about ten pages with a blog, a contact form, a CRM and automatic follow-up on new enquiries. Roughly, at the time of writing:
| Option | What you buy | Approx. monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Starter | Starter edition of every hub, 2 seats | $30-40 |
| HubSpot Professional | Content Hub Pro and Marketing Hub Pro | From $1,390 |
| Wix | Core, CRM included | $29 |
| Zoho | Sites Plus and Bigin Express for 2 users | $29 |
| Systeme.io | Startup, billed yearly | About $14 |
| Durable | Launch, billed yearly | $22 |
| GoHighLevel | Starter | $81-97 plus usage |
| WebNewBiz | Growth | $79 ($1 first month) |

None of these tools is right for everyone. Stay with HubSpot, or look elsewhere, in these cases:
What is the best HubSpot CMS alternative for a small business?
It depends on what matters most. Wix is the safest all-rounder with a large app market, Zoho Sites with Bigin is the cheapest pairing, Systeme.io suits course and email businesses, Durable is quickest for a simple service site, GoHighLevel has the deepest automation, and WebNewBiz puts an AI-built site, store and CRM in one login.
Why does HubSpot get so expensive?
Content Hub Starter is fairly priced at about $20 per seat a month, but it is capped at 30 website pages and only offers simple workflows. Content Hub Professional starts at $500 a month and Marketing Hub Professional at $890 a month, so adding advanced SEO tools and full automation can cost $1,390 a month or more.
Can I keep HubSpot's free CRM and use a cheaper website builder?
Yes. HubSpot forms can be embedded on most website builders that allow custom code, so leads still land in the free HubSpot CRM. You lose the all-in-one setup and HubSpot's content tools, but it is a sensible middle path if your team already works in HubSpot.
Which option is cheapest for a website and CRM together?
Systeme.io has a free plan with a website, blog, custom domain and 2,000 contacts. Among paid setups, Durable Launch is $22 a month billed yearly, and Wix Core or Zoho Sites Plus with Bigin Express for two users both come to about $29 a month.
Which alternatives should I skip for serious content marketing?
If you rely on topic clusters, A/B testing, personalised content and multi-language pages, none of the six matches HubSpot Content Hub Professional. Stay on HubSpot, or use WordPress with good SEO plugins and a separate CRM. If you need a large app ecosystem, Wix or HubSpot are stronger than Durable, Systeme.io, Zoho Sites or WebNewBiz.
Can I move my HubSpot website to another builder?
Your content, contacts and domain can move, but HubSpot themes do not carry over, so the design is rebuilt on the new platform. List every URL first and set up 301 redirects so you protect your search rankings.
